SCHENECTADY, NY – The SUNYIT women's bowling team followed up yesterday's second place finish at the Boulevard Bowl Classic with a third place finish out of six teams at the 17th Annual S.C.C.C. Invitational Sunday.
SUNYIT had a final score of 6198 on the afternoon. Junior Tabatha Williams (Endwell, NY/Herkimer County CC) led the way with a six-game series of 1182, which included a high game of 227, while fellow classmate Kourtni Pratt (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) finished sixth in singles competition with a three-game score of 542. Seniors Katie Freisatz (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) and Meaghan McGurn (Slingerlands, NY/Bethlehem) teamed up to take fourth place in doubles competition with a three-game total of 1134.
Nicole Sheldon finished first overall with a final score of 1220 to help Hudson Valley Community College win the event with an overall score of 6439. Mohawk Valley finished second with a score of 6315.
The Wildcats will close out their regular season this Saturday when they travel to take on Medaille College. The event is scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm.
