CORTLAND, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly baseball team dominated a doubleheader on Friday afternoon, beating Bryant & Stratton of Syracuse 22-0 in game one and 13-2 in game two. The Wildcat offense had 33 hits in the two games while the pitching staff held the Bobcats to just three hits in game one and eight hits scattered in game two. The Wildcats are now 4-1 this season.

GAME 1:

Right from the start, SUNY Poly set the tone, piling up runs in every inning. Their hitters were relentless, amassing an impressive 21 hits throughout the game. Ryan Pelton led the charge, showcasing his power with a home run and two doubles, collecting four RBIs in total. Ethan Merone and Kurt Johnson also contributed significantly, each securing three hits and multiple RBIs.

On the defensive side, pitcher Jack Montanye delivered a stellar performance, shutting down Bryant & Stratton's offense completely. Montanye allowed only three hits and struck out eight batters over five innings of work. He earned his second win of the season.

Bryant & Stratton struggled to find any offensive rhythm against SUNY Poly's pitching and despite their efforts, they were unable to mount any significant threat, ultimately falling short in a lopsided 22-0 defeat.

GAME 2:

Game two was another dominant display of both offense and pitching, SUNY Poly's baseball team secured a resounding 13-2 victory over the Bobcats in game two of the double header.

SUNY Poly's bats came alive early, as they capitalized on opportunities to score in almost every inning. Ryan Pelton led the charge, contributing three RBIs, including a crucial hit by pitch with the bases loaded in the second inning. Brody Liddy also played a significant role, driving in two runs while reaching base four times during the game.

On the mound, Aaron Kifer delivered a stellar performance, pitching six strong innings and allowing just two runs while striking out nine batters. He effectively shut down Bryant & Stratton's offense, scattering eight hits throughout the game. He is now 2-0 this season.

Bryant & Stratton struggled to contain SUNY Poly's potent offense, with their pitching staff struggling with control issues, walking 13 batters in total. Despite some offensive contributions, including an RBI double from M. Santos, they couldn't overcome SUNY Poly's commanding lead.
