UTICA, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly baseball program has been recognized by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) as a recipient of the 2025-26 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award.

The award honors baseball programs across the country that have demonstrated exceptional achievement in the classroom by maintaining a cumulative team grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the 2025-26 academic year. This year, 500 collegiate programs and nearly 320 high school teams earned the distinction.

To qualify for the award, programs were required to:

• Be a high school or collegiate baseball team.

• Be led by a current ABCA member as head coach.

• Finish the 2025-26 academic year with a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.0.

The recognition reflects the Wildcats' commitment to excellence both on the field and in the classroom, highlighting the dedication and hard work of the program's student-athletes throughout the academic year.

This season the Wildcats finished with a record of 15-17 and a conference record of 11-11, marking their second consecutive year making the Empire 8 Playoffs.
