BASE: Wildcats Celebrate Senior Day With a 6-1 Win Over Bryant & Stratton.

UTICA, N.Y. - SUNY Poly baseball team defeated Bryant & Stratton - Syracuse 6-1 in a non-conference matchup on Friday at Peter A. Spina Field. The Wildcat's big fourth inning led to the win. The Wildcats held a ceremony after the game to honor their eight graduating seniors; Alexander Bonacci, Zach Byrum, Michael Johnson, James Lynch, Zackary Morrison, Carter Romansky, Manuel Santiago, and Raymond Strauser.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Carter Romansky pitched six scoreless innings for SUNY Poly allowing only four hits and two walks with three strikeouts, earning his second win of the season.

 

The Wildcats scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take the lead. Paul Barber started the scoring with a two-run double to center field, followed by Christopher Martin's 2 RBI single.

 

In the next inning, SUNY Poly added one more run as Raymond Strauser crushed a double to center field, driving in Carter Romansky. The Wildcats added their final run in the sixth inning when Paul Barber hit an RBI double to score James Lynch.

 

Bryant & Stratton scored their only run in the top of the seventh inning when Brian Angeles-Rosario's RBI single drove in Andrew Gleason.

 

Carter Romansky was relieved by Michael Johnson, who earned the save after pitching three innings, giving up only one hit and one run, with three strikeouts and three walks.

 

Alex Garcia II suffered the loss for Bryant & Stratton, allowing four earned runs on five hits and three walks in four innings pitched.

The Wildcats will wrap up their 2023 season on Saturday with a pair of North Atlantic Conference games at Cazenovia. The games are scheduled for 12:00 PM and 2:30 PM at Cazenovia.
