Box Score UTICA, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly baseball team lost to Utica on Thursday 5-0 in non-conference play. The Wildcats held Utica scoreless for six innings, but in the final three innings, they pushed across five runs to earn their 23rd win of the year. SUNY Poly is now 10-24 this season with three games left to play.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Nathan Yantz drove in the game's first run in the sixth inning on an RBI single. In the seventh, an error allowed Steve Sclafani and Joe Crossley to score. A squeeze bunt by Tyler Jennings scored May a few plays later to give Utica a 4-0 lead.
Utica scored an insurance run in the ninth on a wild pitch that allowed Jon Son to score.
SUNY Poly had its chances but was unable to capitalize. They left 12 men on base throughout the game. They had six hits as a team in the game. James Lynch had two, Alexander Bonacci and Carter Romansky each had a double, and Paul Barber and Raymond Strauser each had one.
Dylan Sullivan picked up the win for Utica, pitching seven scoreless innings with six strikeouts. SUNY Poly's Aaron Kifer suffered the loss, allowing one run in six innings of work with five strikeouts.

On Friday, the Wildcats will take on Bryant & Stratton in a single 9-inning game at Peter A. Spina Field. The Wildcats will celebrate their eight seniors with a short ceremony after the game.
