Box Score MAHWAH, NJ – The SUNYIT Women's basketball team was beaten out by Arcadia University in the title game of the Roadrunner Tip-off on Saturday. The Knights were led by their sophomore guard Mary Baden who had a game high 20 points, a game high 7 steals, and a team high 9 rebounds. Her play helped to clinch her team the title by a final score of 74-64.
Senior guard Abbey Hanehan (Stillwater, N.Y / Stillwater) had a team high 17 points, and 3 assists. Junior Tierney McGlynn also contributed to the Wildcats offense with 14 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Lauren Knowles (Salisbury Mills, N.Y / Washingtonvill) and Deasia Godson (Freeport , N.Y. / Freeport) had a good day on the glass. Lauren Snagged 15 rebounds (6 offensive). Deasia, did her damage on the defensive side of the ball, recording 12 rebounds and 5 blocks. She also scored a solid 8 points in 15 minutes of play. Neither team shot particularly well during the game, but the advantage came to the Knights by the way of more shots taken.
With the loss, the Wildcats record goes to 1-1 on the season. They will be looking to bounce back from their loss on November 21st at Cortland State. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
