North Adams, M.A. - The SUNY Poly men's soccer team edged the MCLA Trailblazers 2-0, thanks to late goals from Abus Mohamed Ali and Payton Bennett. The Wildcats unleashed 25 shots, while goalkeepers Ryan Primus and Tyler Barth combined for three saves. With this win, the Wildcats improve to 6-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Wildcats and Trailblazers played a scoreless first half, with both teams combining for only three shots on goal. The second half of the game was physical, as the Wildcats and Trailblazers picked up a total of 14 fouls, six yellow cards and one red card. SUNY Poly would break the scoring deadlock in the 75th minute when Owen Brignati connected with Payton Bennett for his second goal of the year. Abus Mohamed Ali and the Wildcats would seal the deal in the 89th minute, extending their lead to 2-0 and ultimately going on to pick up their sixth win of the year.Â
