WSOC: Wildcats Fall to the Cardinals at Home

Utica, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's soccer team suffered their third consecutive loss, falling 7-1 to the St. John Fisher Cardinals. Emma Spelman and Kyra Kenyon each scored twice for the Cardinals, while Kate Donnelly netted the Wildcats only goal. This defeat brings the Wildcats record to 4-4, with an 0-3 mark in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 
The Saint John Fisher Cardinals started their strong offensive afternoon in the 13th minute when Emma Spelman buried a pass from Madelyn Wania to take a 1-0 lead. The Cardinals would add two more goals to take a 3-0 lead into halftime, thanks to Francesca Logrippo and Emily Woolingham.
Emma Spelman would strike for her second goal of the game at the 48th minute, pushing the Cardinals lead to four. Kate Donnelly would help the Wildcats get on the board minutes later, scoring her sixth goal of the season at the 55th minute. The Cardinals would go on to rip off three straight before the end of the game, securing a 7-1 victory.
