Utica, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly women's soccer team suffered their fourth consecutive defeat, losing to the Utica Pioneers 5-0. The Pioneers controlled the game, outshooting the Wildcats 16-2 and earning seven corner kicks to none for SUNY Poly. This loss brings the Wildcats record to 4-5 overall and 0-4 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The scoring began in the 11th minute when the Wildcats conceded an own goal off a corner kick. The Pioneers would maintain their offensive momentum after the goal, as Natalia Bell and Bella Noble would both find the back of the net before halftime, leaving Utica with a 3-0 advantage at the break.
The second half saw the Wildcats struggle to gain traction, managing only one shot while allowing five from the Pioneers. Rory Richard and Amber Piersma added to the Pioneers tally with goals in the 56th and 68th minutes, sealing the game at 5-0.
