Plattsburgh. N.Y - After a tough loss to the Plattsburgh Cardinals earlier in the day, the SUNY Poly women's volleyball team bounced back to secure their first victory of the season against the Anna Maria Amcats, winning in three straight sets. Kaylee DeGroat led the Wildcats with a standout performance, recording ten kills and ten digs, while Grace Southwick contributed significantly with 28 assists.
GAME 1:
The Wildcats faced the Plattsburgh Cardinals in their opening match. They kept the first set competitive, narrowly losing 25-21. However, the Wildcats struggled to find their rhythm in the following sets, falling 25-11 and 25-14. Daniella Aluisio led the team with six kills, and Samantha Dee topped the defense with seven digs.
Game 2:
A few hours later, the Wildcats returned to the court to take on the Anna Maria Amcats. Fueled by strong serving from Kaylee DeGroat and Brooke Durfee, they dominated the first set, winning 25-12.Building on their momentum, the Wildcats maintained an eight-point lead in the second set, ultimately winning 25-16 thanks to another impressive performance from DeGroat.With a 2-0 lead, SUNY Poly continued to excel in the third set, never trailing and finishing with a 25-17 victory to claim their first win of the season.
