MSOC: Wildcats Fall to the Soaring Eagles at Home

Utica, N.Y - The SUNY Poly men's soccer team suffered their second loss of the season, after being shutout by the Elmira Soaring Eagles by a score of 1-0. The Soaring Eagles outshot the Wildcats 13-7, with their long goal coming from forward Lancia Alessandro at the 65th minute. The Wildcats are now 4-2 on the season, with a conference record of 0-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Elmira started strong, taking nine shots in the first half, but Wildcat goalkeeper Ryan Primus made four crucial saves to keep the score level at halftime. SUNY Poly managed two shots, neither on target.

The Wildcats came out of halftime with some energy, registering four shots on goal. Soaring Eagle Juan Carlos Cruz Gandia would come up big in goal for Elmira , stopping all every shot he faced in the second half. The Soaring Eagles would break the draw in the 65th minute, thanks to Alessandro Lancia's first goal of the season. His goal would go on to be the difference, helping the Soaring eagles secure a 1-0 victory.
