Potsdam, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly women's basketball team suffered a 58-41 defeat on the road to the Clarkson University Golden Knights. Alivia Turk led the Wildcats with a double-double performance, registering 11 points and 10 rebounds. With the loss, the Wildcats fall to 1-5 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The game started with both teams evenly matched, as they each made only three field goals in the first quarter, resulting in an 8-8 tie heading into the second.
Clarkson took control in the second quarter, outscoring the Wildcats 16-6 and building a 24-14 lead at halftime.
The Wildcats, fueled by baskets from Alivia Turk and Kelsey Meca, fought to keep the game within reach in the third quarter. However, Clarkson responded with a strong push, extending their lead to as much as 17 points.
In the fourth quarter, the Wildcats mounted a late effort, scoring 17 points, but they were unable to overcome the deficit. The Golden Knights held on to claim a 58-41 victory.
