Canton, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men's basketball team suffered a narrow 61-58 loss in a hard-fought road game against the St. Lawrence University Saints. Four Wildcats scored in double figures, led by Anthony Rose with 14 points. Kamyrn Comstock posted a double-double, contributing 11 points and 13 rebounds. The loss leaves the Wildcats with a 2-3 record on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Wildcats came out strong, jumping to an early 15-7 lead in the first half behind contributions from Cheickne Toure, Daimarr Miller, and Comstock. The Wildcats maintained control for most of the first period, but a late 10-0 run by the Saints in the final three minutes gave St. Lawrence a two-point lead at halftime.

In the second half, the Wildcats quickly tied the game with the first basket, but were unable to regain the lead as the Saints gradually built an eight-point advantage. Despite a late push from Rose, Toure, and Comstock to keep it close, the Wildcats couldn't complete the comeback. Crucial free throws down the stretch sealed the 61-58 victory for St. Lawrence.

Tough one tonight, said head coach Rob Schoener. "These games come down to one or two possessions and they just made or two more plays down the stretch."
