Brooklyn, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly women's basketball team was defeated by Baruch College 67-39, marking their second loss in as many nights. Alysa Jackson led the Wildcats in scoring with 10 points, while freshman Sanaa Lee impressed on the boards, hauling in 17 rebounds in 30 minutes of play. With the loss, SUNY Poly's record drops to 1-7 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The game began with a back-and-forth first quarter, as both teams exchanged scoring runs. Baruch College held a narrow four-point lead at the end of the opening period.
However, the Wildcats struggled offensively in the second quarter, shooting just 2-of-18 (11%) from the field. The Bearcats capitalized on the cold shooting, extending their lead to 14 points by halftime, leading 32-18.
SUNY Poly came out with renewed energy to start the third quarter, knocking down a few early baskets to cut into the deficit. But Baruch quickly responded, going on a run that pushed their lead to 20 points heading into the final quarter.
In the fourth, the Bearcats continued to control the game, maintaining their offensive pressure and securing a 67-39 victory.
