MBB: Wildcats Dominate with Explosive Offense in 99-67 Win Against Bears

Utica, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men's basketball team secured a 99-67 victory over the SUNY Potsdam Bears in their final game before the Christmas break. Four Wildcats reached double figures in scoring, with Daimarr Miller leading the way with 29 points. Kamyrn Comstock and LaMarqus Merchant Jr. each recorded double-doubles in the win. The Wildcats head into the break with a 3-4 record.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

SUNY Poly took control early, scoring the first basket of the game and never relinquishing the lead. The Wildcats quickly built an eight-point advantage, but the Bears made a brief push, managing to close the gap midway through the half . However, the Wildcats responded with strong defense and offensive contributions from Miller, Anthony Rose, LaMarqus Merchant Jr., and Cheickne Toure, regaining control and expanding their lead. SUNY Poly entered halftime with a commanding 50-30 lead.

In the second half, the Wildcats continued to dominate, never allowing the Bears to get within 20 points. William Scanlon, Jarrett Wilbur, Alec Bartone, and Milan Harricharan all contributed valuable minutes and added to the team's balanced effort. The Wildcats kept their foot on the gas, eventually sealing the 99-67 victory.

"I am really proud of how the guys responded today, said head coach Rob Schoener. "We were better across the board, got a ton of contributions.  Excited to build off this after the holiday."
