MLAX: Poly Improves to 2-0 in NAC Play With 14-8 Win Over Thomas.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's lacrosse team improved their conference record on Sunday with a 14-8 win over the Thomas College Terriers in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play. The Wildcats never trailed in the game, going up 11-3 in the first half. The Wildcats would cruise to the finish line with the lead to improve to 2-4 on the season and 2-0 in NAC play. 

 

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES: 

  • Payton Thomas led the way for the Wildcats with a game-high four points on four goals.

  • Shane Wyman had three goals and three groundballs for SUNY Poly. 

  • Ryan Mead was dominant on faceoffs, going 11-15 while recording three points on two goals and an assist. He also had a groundball in the game. 

  • Amelio Ripa had three points on two goals and an assist. He also scooped up a pair of groundballs. 

  • Edward Rosaschi had three points on a goal and two assists. 

  • Andrew Maycock had a game high three caused turnovers and a groundball. 

  • Joseph Fontanella had a game-high eight groundballs and a pair of caused turnovers. 

  • Joseph VanZandt was the winning goalkeeper. He made a save in 30 minutes of play. 

  • Mathew Johnson also played 30 minutes in goal for SUNY Poly. He made five saves. 

 

UP NEXT: 

The Wildcats will face off with MCLA on Wednesday, March 30th. The game is at MCLA and is scheduled for a 6:30 PM start.
