MLAX: Wildcats Dominate in First NAC Game of the Season.

MARCY, N.Y.- The SUNY Poly men's lacrosse team dominated NVU-Lyndon on Friday in the team's first North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game of the 2022 season. The Wildcats scored nine times in the first quarter to take a commanding 9-1 lead. They continued to grow the lead until the final buzzer, ultimately winning the game 20-2. The Wildcats are now 1-4 this season with a 1-0 NAC record. 

 

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES: 

  • Bennett Smith had a monster game. He had eight points on two goals and six assists. He also had four groundballs. 

  • Lyle Beeman had five points on four goals and an assist. He also had three groundballs and a pair of caused turnovers. 

  • Amelio Ripa scored four goals for the Wildcats.

  • Edward Rosaschi had three goals, an assist, and four groundballs. 

  • Andrew Maycock had three assists and a goal for a total of four points. He also had a groundball. 

  • Shane Wyman had three goals for the Wildcats.

  • Joseph VanZandt earned the win in goal. He faced one shot. 

  • Matthew Johnson made four saves in 30 minutes of play in goal. 

  • Joseph Fontanella had a game-high three caused turnovers. 

 

UP NEXT: 

The Wildcats will host NAC opponent Thomas College on Sunday at 1:00 PM. The game will be played at Wildcat Field and will be streamed live on the SUNY Poly Sports Network.
