MLAX: Wildcats Earn NEAC Win Over Cobleskill.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's lacrosse team took down Cobleskill on Wednesday night 14-8 in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play. The Wildcats got out to a good start, scoring four unanswered goals in the first quarter. Cobleskill nearly matched Poly goal-for-goal in the second quarter, but the Wildcats took an 8-3 lead into the locker room at halftime. The 'Cats would close out the game relatively unscathed to finish out the win. SUNY Poly is now 6-4 overall with a 2-1 NEAC record.

 

NOTABLES:

  • Edward Rosaschi (Highland Mills, N.Y.) had another big game for SUNY Poly. The junior had a game-high six points on two goals and four assists. He also had three caused turnovers and five ground balls.

  • Daniel Cuddihy (Eden, N.Y.) had a season-high four goals in the game. The junior scooped up two ground balls and put five shots on goal.

  • Shane Wyman (East Greenbush, N.Y.) also scored four goals for the Wildcats. Wyman scooped up four ground balls in the game.

  • Ryan Mead (Churchville, N.Y.) had a solid day in the faceoff circle. The sophomore won 8-11 faceoffs, had five ground balls, and an assist.

  • Charles Rosaschi (Highland Mills, N.Y.) earned the win in goal. He made five saves on nine shots faced to earn his second win of the season.

  • Daniel Rivie (Ossining, N.Y.) had four points on two goals and two assists. Rivie also caused a turnover and had three ground balls.

  • Chase LaCava (Jamesville, N.Y.) had three assists in the game.

  • Jacob Elliott (Troy, N.Y.) scored two goals.

  • Cobleskill was led by Ed White who scored three points on a goal and two assists.

  • Edwin Martinez and Sean Degnan each scored two goals for Cobleskill.

  • Willie Wilson was the losing goalkeeper. He allowed 14 foals and made 15 saves.

 

UP NEXT:

The Wildcats will host Keuka College on Saturday, April 13th at 12:00 PM. The Wolves of Keuka College are currently 3-0 in NEAC play and are tied for first place in the conference.
