Box Score CAZENOVIA, N.Y.- The SUNYIT Men's Volleyball handled business Tuesday night with a 3-0 sweep of Cazenovia College to improve to 6-2. The Wildcats opened the first two sets with decisive 25-15, and 25-19 wins. Cazenovia didn't go away quietly in the third set however battling the Wildcats to a 26-24 finish.
The Wildcats relied on their offensive power to overcome the hosts, tallying for 43 kills on the night. Leading the Wildcats was Freshmen Middle Hitter Bobby Nilsen (Bohemia, N.Y. / Connetquot) with 8 kills and Sophmore Outside hitter Evan Smith (Saugerties, N.Y. / Saugerties) with 10. Nick Fox (Chili, N.Y. / Churchville-Chili) played a big role in getting the Wildcats offense started as he tallied 31 assists and 2 digs in the match.
Cazenovia earned 15 kills with Conor Scholefield leading the way with 7. Devin Purcell tallied 11 assists and Jacob Bitz added 9 digs to lead the Cazenovia effort.
The Wildcats are in action again February 15th as they host Wells and Lancaster Bible in an NEAC Crossover with matches at 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm.
