BUFFALO, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Men's Volleyball Team dropped a pair of matches on the opening day of the Medaille Tournament on Saturday in straight sets.

In their first match, the Wildcats battled but ultimately fell to the host team 3-0. After dropping a lopsided first set, however, the team fought to a close loss in the second 25-22, and again in the third set losing just 25-23. Sean Conte (Hilton, N.Y. / Hilton) led the team in kills on the match with 10.

In the afternoon match the Wildcats found themselves up against another top-flight team in D'Youville College, falling again in straight sets. Timothy Maracic led the team in kills this time with 6, but it wasn't enough as D'Youville posted a sturdy .259 team hitting percentage.

The Wildcats will be back in action during the second day of the tournament tomorrow. The team is slated to take on Elmira College at 1:00 pm – don't forget to check Medaille's tournament webpage for match results and box scores.
