Delhi, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly women's volleyball team earned a 3-0 sweep over the SUNY Delhi Broncos. The Wildcats controlled the pace of the match from start to finish, taking the sets by scores of 25-19, 25-20, and 25-16 to move their record to 5-5 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Wildcats and Broncos traded points early before SUNY Poly found their rhythm.Grace Southwick directed the offense with precision, setting up key kills from Daniella Aluisio, Kylee DeCarr, and Kassity Cruz to build momentum. Midway through the frame, a pair of service aces from Cruz and Samantha Dee helped stretch Poly's lead. Abby Newell and Aluisio delivered late kills to seal the opening set, 25-19.
SUNY Poly came out hot in the second frame, fueled by back-to-back service aces from Aluisio and steady attacking from Cruz and Newell. Southwick again provided strong distribution, feeding Cruz and Newell for kills that widened the gap. Abby Newell's presence at the net gave the Wildcats a late push, while a service ace from Samantha Dee helped the Wildcats secure a 25-20 set victory.
The Wildcats closed the match in dominant fashion, using a balanced mix of serving and attacking pressure. Southwick rattled off three consecutive service aces during a critical mid-set run, also connecting with Erica Mumbulo and Cruz for kills. Samantha Dee kept the momentum rolling with two service aces of her own, while Aluisio added key swings at the net. SUNY Poly finished strong, with Grace Maynard sealing the match on a service ace to take the set 25-16 and complete the sweep.
