Brockport, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly baseball team dropped both of their games to SUNY Brockport by scores of 7-1 and 11-2. Tristan Allen had a strong day at the plate, knocking in two runs on two hits. The Wildcats are now 9-14 on the season.Â
GAME ONE:Â
Brockport wasted no time getting on the board. After a double from Josh Indek and a single from Zach Eldred, the Golden Eagles plated two runs with RBIs from Eldred and Kyle Blake. Eldred later advanced all the way to third before scoring on Blake's single to left.
Meanwhile, SUNY Poly's offense struggled to get going. Despite a leadoff walk from Derek Menechino, a quick pickoff and two quick outs ended the early opportunity.
Brockport added a third run with a sacrifice fly from Blake, scoring Indek once again after he reached on his second hit of the game. Eldred continued his big day in the fifth, launching a two-run homer to right field to push the lead to 5–0.Â
SUNY Poly managed their first hit in the fifth on a single from Will Orlando but couldn't capitalize, leaving him stranded at second base.
Brockport's aggressive baserunning paid off in the sixth. With runners on the corners, a double steal brought home James Simoncell to make it 6–0, followed by an RBI single from Frank Vanzillot to score Brian Hoffman.Â
The Wildcats broke up the shutout in the seventh with a solo homer from Tristan Allen. The Wildcats tried to mount a late push with two more runners reaching base, but Brockport reliever Troy Leibert held firm to close it out by a score of 7-1.Â

GAME TWO:Â
The Wildcats struck first in the top of the second inning. After a walk to Tristen Allen and another free pass to Will Orlando, Zach Place came through with an RBI single to left field, scoring Allen and giving the Wildcats an early 1-0 lead. That momentum continued into the third, when Allen added another RBI with a single to right, scoring Quinn Hill and putting SUNY Poly up 2-0.
The Golden Eagles exploded in the bottom of the fifth inning, capitalizing on two defensive errors and a flurry of hits to plate seven runs, flipping the game and giving Brockport a 7-2 lead.Â
In the sixth, Zach Eldred singled and later scored. Eldred would tack on more for the Golden Eagles, hitting a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh to push Brockport's lead to 11-2.Â
The Wildcats struggled to regain footing after the fifth inning, managing just a pair of hits the rest of the way. Brody Liddy tried to spark something with a double in the eighth, but the Wildcats couldn't string together any late offense and would fall to the Golden Eagles 11-2.
