HOW IT HAPPENED:
The game started with a flurry of turnovers, but it was SUNY Poly's Katelynn Truax who opened the scoring with a man-up goal at 14:07, giving her team a 1-0 lead. SUNY Poly continued to build momentum as Brinley Ronan and Abigail Rosaschi followed with goals, extending the lead to 3-0. Keuka fought back with a goal from Katie Deatherage during a man-up situation, making it 4-1, but the Wildcats responded with another free-position goal from Rosaschi at 3:18, bringing the score to 4-1 heading into the second quarter.
After a yellow card on the Wolves, SUNY Poly's Alyssa Hawkins capitalized on the man-up opportunity with an early goal in the second quarter to make it 5-1 Wildcats. However, the momentum shifted as Keuka's Bonetti took over. She scored back-to-back goals, cutting the deficit to 5-3. Keuka's rally continued with a free-position goal from Maddie Fassinger making it 5-4. The surge continued as Deatherage added another goal, tying the game at 5-5. Keuka kept rolling, with goals from Bonetti and Rylie Pratt, giving Keuka a 6-5 advantage. With another goal by Bonetti at 6:30, Keuka ended the quarter with a 10-6 lead.
Coming out of halftime, Keuka continued its strong performance, with another pair of goals from Bonetti. The Wildcats couldn't get a break, and Keuka added a goal from Bonetti again making it 13-6. While SUNY Poly found a brief moment of life with a goal from Callie Johnson, the team was unable to make much of a comeback. Keuka added two more goals in the quarter, leaving them with a 14-7 lead as the final quarter began.
Keuka's offensive firepower didn't slow down in the fourth. Bonetti continued her stellar play with two more goals, while Nelson added another goal to push Keuka's lead to 18-8. Although SUNY Poly's Rosaschi found the net once more at 2:22 with a free-position goal, it wasn't enough to close the gap and The Wolves would end the game on top by a score of 19-9.
