Weston, M.A. - The SUNY Poly men's volleyball team completed a two game sweep against Regis College and Elms College. The Wildcats won both matches in three straight sets, which was highlighted by Joshua Slater reaching 1,000 career assists. The Wildcats are now 3-3 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
GAME 1: SUNY Poly vs Elms
The match began with Elms taking an early lead, but SUNY Poly quickly responded with a service ace from Derek Gottler. The two teams exchanged errors and kills, but the Wildcats gained momentum midway through the set, capitalizing on multiple service errors by Elms. Key contributions from Jason Aubrey and Andrew Baaki helped SUNY Poly extend their advantage. Another service ace from Gottler sealed the set for the Wildcats, 25-16.
In the second set, SUNY Poly came out strong, with early kills from Jason Aubrey and Joshua Slater. Elms responded, narrowing the gap and even briefly taking the lead at 20-21.
