WSOC: Wildcats Win Big on Homecoming Weekend

Utica, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's soccer team earned their fourth win of the season with a dominant 5-0 victory over the Bryant and Stratton Bobcats. Hannah Shipley led the Wildcats with two goals on five shots. The Wildcats are now 4-1 on the season and will quickly begin preparing for Empire 8 conference play which begins next week. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

The Wildcats played with intensity on homecoming weekend, scoring four goals in the first half of the game, beginning with an unassisted goal from Kate Donnelly. Aubree Smykla would soon follow, scoring her second goal of the season at the 22nd minute. Hannah Shipley would score the next two Wildcat goals, building a 4-0 lead heading into halftime. 

The second half was not as action packed as the first, but Katelynn Truax would sneak one past the keeper at the 64th minute to extend the Wildcats lead to 5-0. SUNY Poly would go on to close the game out by the same score, securing their fourth victory on the season. 

UP NEXT: 

The Wildcats kick off conference play as they are scheduled to face Elmira on September 21st at 1:00 PM.
