Utica, NY - The North Atlantic Conference has announced the Baseball All-Conference Award winners for the 2023 season. The awards are nominated and voted on by the coaches of the NAC and consist of five individual awards, two All-Conference Teams for each division, and a nine-player Sportsmanship Team. Nine Wildcats were named to the All-Conference team, including Trinity Critelli, Kimberly Birmingham, Amy DeSena, Ava Faragon, Alivia Turk, Jadyn Childers, Joy Stevens and Taylor Hunter. Ariel Bell was selected to the Sportsmanship team.
Trinity Critelli pitched over 130 innings this season, compiling an impressive 215 strikeouts, eventually becoming the all-time strikeout leader in SUNY Poly program history. She finished the season with a 2.41 ERA and a 16-6 record, going the full distance in 20 of her starts.
Kimberly Birmingham was never an easy out at the plate, finishing her senior year with a batting average of .560. Birmingham led the conference in doubles with 16 and drove in 45 runs in 33 games played. She also boasted a whopping .868 slugging percentage.
Infielder Amy DeSena completed a strong senior year campaign that saw her finish with a .325 batting average and a .456 slugging percentage. DeSena hit seven doubles, tallied 18 RBIs and stole six bases.
Second year outfielder Ava Faragon built off of her strong freshman outing, ending the season with a .394 batting average and driving in 21 runs.
Alivia Turk ended the season leading the conference in triples with eight. She batted an impressive .433 with a .722 slugging percentage. She also had seven stolen bases and drove in 31 runs.
Jadyn Childers was a wall behind the plate, leading the conference in putouts. At the plate, Childers ended her first season as a Wildcat batting .404 with 27 RBIs and two home runs.
Joy Stevens was dominant on the mound and at the plate. In the circle, Stevens pitched 16 games, ending the season with a 10-4 record. Stevens ended the year with a 2.44 ERA and 53 strikeouts. Offensively, Stevens completed her season with a .435 batting average and a .556 slugging percentage, while also driving in 32 runs.
Taylor Hunter ended her season with a .345 batting average and knocking in 19 RBIs. She also hit 11 doubles and had a .471 slugging percentage.
