Utica, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's soccer team concluded their season with a 3-0 defeat to SUNY Brockport in the Empire 8 playoffs, finishing with an overall record of 10-4-4. Despite outshooting the Golden Eagles, the Wildcats could not overcome key second-half goals from Brockport. Thomas Nimineh led the Wildcats with four shots, while goalkeeper Ryan Primus recorded two saves in the match.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Both teams started strong, creating early scoring opportunities. Goalkeepers Ryan Primus and Andrew Taylor showcased their skills, keeping the game scoreless at halftime.
In the second half, SUNY Brockport broke the deadlock in the 49th minute. They extended their lead over 20 minutes later when Brady Reinagel scored his fourth goal of the season, assisted by Juliuz Kemp. Just two minutes later, the Golden Eagles added their third goal, sealing a 3-0 victory and advancing to the Empire 8 semifinals.
