Oswego, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly women's basketball team dropped their second consecutive game of the season, falling to Oswego State by a score of 56-43. Alysa Jackson led the Wildcats with 13 points, while Sanaa Lee and Alivia Turk each grabbed five rebounds. The loss leaves SUNY Poly at 0-2 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Wildcats struggled offensively early, shooting just 15 percent in the first quarter. Meanwhile, Oswego State was red-hot from beyond the arc, hitting five of their seven three-point attempts. The Lakers finished the quarter with a 19-9 lead.
In the second quarter, SUNY Poly improved their shooting, posting 13 points. However, Oswego State remained hot from long range, shooting 60 percent from three-point territory, and extending their lead to 34-22 at halftime.
The Wildcats' struggles continued in the third quarter, as they managed only three points. Oswego State capitalized, pushing their lead to 49-25 by the end of the period.
Despite a strong fourth-quarter push led by Jackson and Hannah Shipley, the Wildcats' rally fell short. The Lakers held on for a 56-43 victory.
