Rochester, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men's soccer team fell to 6-3-2 this season after losing 2-0 to the Saint John Fisher Cardinals. Joey Avallone was pivotal for the Cardinals, assisting both goals. Despite four Wildcats registering two or more shots, Cardinal goalkeeper Christian Burkhart thwarted all attempts.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Cardinals struck first in the 32nd minute, with Riley Rease netting his first goal of the season. The Wildcats had opportunities, firing three shots on goal in the first half, but none found the back of the net, leaving the Cardinals with a 1-0 lead at halftime.
The second half was closely contested, with both teams managing four shots. However, the Cardinals extended their lead in the 63rd minute with a goal from Jack Tamburino, securing the 2-0 victory.
