Utica, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's volleyball team dropped to 1-11 on the season after losing to the Russell Sage Gators in straight sets. Grace Southwick led the Wildcats with 16 assists and posted an impressive .800 attack percentage. For the Gators, Madeline Mott recorded 12 kills, while Emma Rainville tallied a game-high 31 assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Wildcats kept the first set competitive until the Gators surged ahead, scoring eight of nine points to take a 19-12 lead. Although SUNY Poly narrowed the gap with some late scoring, they ultimately fell 25-16.

In the second set, the Wildcats stayed close until the Gators scored five consecutive points, stretching their lead to 16-8. SUNY Poly responded with a four-point rally, cutting the deficit to three. However, Russell Sage quickly halted the Wildcats' momentum, securing a 25-20 set win.

The Gators carried their momentum into the third set, building a lead of up to ten points. They closed out the match decisively, winning the set 25-15 and sealing a 3-0 victory.
