Utica, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's volleyball team topped the SUNY Delhi Broncos 3-2 (25-23, 23-25, 23-25, 25-23, 18-16) on senior day. Senior Brooke Durfee, along with freshmen Kassity Cruz and Daniella Aluisio, combined for 36 kills, while sophomore setter Grace Southwick recorded 34 assists. The Wildcats now stand at 2-15 for the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Wildcats fell behind early in the first set by five points. Fueled by a strong kill and service ace from Kassity Cruz, the Wildcats would rally to take a late 20-19 lead and eventually secure the 25-23 set victory.Â
In the second set, the Wildcats started strong, but a five-point run by the Broncos shifted the momentum. Kills from Leanna Rupert and Brooke Durfee kept the Wildcats close, but they would end up losing the set 25-23.

The third set was tightly contested, featuring 13 lead changes. Although the Wildcats had some impressive serving runs, they would drop the set 25-23.
The fourth set remained close throughout, with the largest lead being four points. Key performances from Daniella Aluisio and Durfee propelled the Wildcats to a 25-23 victory, forcing a decisive fifth set.

In the final set, both teams exchanged points until the Broncos built a 9-6 lead. Crucial plays from Durfee, Aluisio, and Cruz would lift the Wildcats to an 18-16 victory, clinching the match 3-2.
