WVB: Wildcats Defeat NEAC Foe Cobleskill to Start Conference Play 1-0.

COBLESKILL, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly Women's Volleyball team earned their first NEAC win on Wednesday evening by defeating SUNY Cobleskill (25-16, 25-10, 19-25, 25-12). With the victory, the Wildcats improve to 3-6 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

 

NOTABLES

  • Karlie King (Liverpool, N.Y.) had a stellar match for the Wildcats by recording a season-high 16 kills to go along with 13 digs.

  • Makayla Hulett (Colonie, N.Y.) also had a great match for SUNY Poly. She finished the match with 13 kills and 13 digs.

  • Shannon McIntyre (New Berlin, N.Y.) led the Wildcat defense with 26 digs. She also had three service aces on the evening.

  • Kaley Pichura (Syracuse, N.Y.) recorded 35 assists, two service aces, and 12 digs.

  • Brittany Adams (Clifton Park, N.Y.) had a solid all-around match for SUNY Poly as she had four service aces, eight digs, three kills, two blocks, and a block assist.

  • Emma Draper (North Chili, N.Y.) recorded a career-high six kills to go along with two blocks and two block assists.

  • Rachel Burke led SUNY Cobleskill with seven kills in the match.

 

COACH'S CORNER

SUNY Poly Head Coach Juleah Wanner had this to say about the victory; "The match was fun to watch as our team's hard work started to show. For a majority of the match, we have played the best we have thus far. Things were looking clean and flowing nicely! I am especially proud of a few girls for having their best match on day one of conference play."

 

UP NEXT

The Wildcat Women's Volleyball team will travel to Hartwick College on Friday for two non-conference matches. First, SUNY Poly will take on King's College at 6:00pm followed by a match against Hartwick College at 8:00pm.
