MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly Women's Lacrosse Team (9-1, 6-0 NEAC) kept things rolling from yesterday's win as they recorded their second straight 17 goal performance. The Wildcats repeated yesterday's 12 goal first half en route to a 17-1 win over the visiting Wells Express (2-9, 2-4 NEAC). 

Krysta Beha (Marcy, N.Y. / Whitesboro HS) and Meghan Serota (Black River, N.Y. / Carthage HS) also repeated yesterday's performance with another four goals apiece. The midfielders recorded two assists each as well.

The Wildcats had an excellent first half, holding the advantage in ground balls, caused turnovers, clears, draw controls, and turnovers. The difference maker, however, came in SUNY Poly's advantage in shots. The home team fired 24 shots in the first 30 minutes compared to Wells's four. Mari Ames (West Carthage, N.Y. / Carthage HS) converted three of those shots, scoring all of her goals before the break. The last of which came with eight seconds to play; Ames finished a feed from Jenny Maxam (Clinton, N.Y. / Clinton HS) on a fast-break opportunity to hold the 12-0 lead at the half.

Serota would get things going for the offense in the second half, scoring the first three goals for the Wildcats. The junior converted her first and third goals of the half ten minutes apart, giving SUNY Poly a 15-0 lead with 19 minutes to play. The Express got on the board during a ten-minute scoring drought for the Wildcats. Alexandria Dodge (Marcy, N.Y. / Whitesboro HS) ended the slump when she scored her third of the day with nine minutes remaining. Nicole DiPiazza (Colonie, N.Y. / Colonie HS) finished the game the same way she did yesterday, scoring the final goal for her team.

Dodge and Ames each finished with four points on three goals and one assist. DiPiazza finished with two goals while Corrina Marconi (Rochester, N.Y. / Gates-Chili HS) and Maxam each finished with two points. 

Hope Cerasuolo (Johnstown, N.Y. / Johnstown HS) led the defense with five ground balls, three draw controls, and two caused turnovers.

Megan Will (Remsen, N.Y. / Remsen HS) remained perfect in goal after turning away two shots.

SUNY Poly returns to action on Saturday, April 23rd when they host Medaille at noon.
