Box Score MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly Women's Lacrosse Team (8-6, 6-3 NEAC) rolled to a 20-1 victory over Penn St.-Abington (4-9, 3-6 NEAC) on Saturday afternoon. Before the game, the team's three seniors were recognized for their dedication to the team.
Mari Ames (West Carthage, N.Y. / Carthage) led the Wildcats with a career-high 12 points on five goals and seven assists.
Krysta Beha (Marcy, N.Y. / Whitesboro) got things started 40 seconds in off a feed from Ames. The Wildcats would continue to score 13 more in the half to hold a 14-1 advantage at the break.
Ames was the first to score in the second half finishing a Nicole DiPiazza (Colonie, N.Y. / Colonie) feed. The pair struck again two minutes later, this time Ames feeding DiPiazza. Senior defender Jenn Bullock (Bronx, N.Y. / NYC Museum) also got on the board in the second stanza.
DiPiazza finished with six points, recording five goals and assist. Beha added five points from three goals and two assists and Meghan Serota (Black River, N.Y. / Carthage) finished with three points on two goals and assist. Alexandria Dodge (Marcy, N.Y. / Whitesboro) notched three goals and Hope Cerasuolo (Johnstown, N.Y. / Johnstown) added a goal to round out the scoring for the Wildcats.
Bullock also recorded six ground balls and two caused turnovers to lead the defense.
The Wildcats return to action on Tuesday at 2:00 pm where they will take on Cazenovia at home.
