Box Score CHAMBERSBURG, P.A. – The Lady Wildcats (1-4, 1-0 NEAC) made history Friday night with their first win in the inaugural season for women's lacrosse at SUNYIT, topping conference foe Wilson College (1-1) on the road, 15-8.
The Wildcats dominated from the first draw to the final horn, jumping out to a 10-3 advantage in the first half and putting the game away by pushing the advantage as high as 14-5 at one point in the second half.
Ana Filipa Exposto (Lisbon, Portugal / American International School of Mozambique) and
Veronica Metz (Morrisville, N.Y. / Morrisville High School, MVCC) tied for the Wildcat lead with 5 goals apiece, however SUNYIT also shared the ball well as six different players found the back of the net.
"We are extremely proud of this team's performance today," said Wildcat Head Coach Erynn Anderson, echoing the thoughts of her entire coaching staff, "They controlled the tempo of the game for the full sixty-minutes."
"It was a good start to the conference season and we are looking forward to taking this momentum into our game against Lancaster Bible College tomorrow," added Anderson.
SUNYIT will wrap up a two-game conference road stint tomorrow in a 1:00 pm match up with the Chargers in Lancaster, P.A.
