WASHINGTON, D.C. – Despite a good fight from the winless Bison (0-8, 0-4 NEAC), the SUNYIT Women's Soccer team (5-6, 4-2 NEAC) came away with a great conference road win, 4-2.

The Bisons scored the game's first goal to take a 1-0 lead (snapping a 5-game scoreless streak), but Wildcat forward Nicole Dinitto evened the score in the 42nd minute with a top-shelf goal to beat the Bison keeper. The Wildcats then pulled away in the second half with goals in the 50th and 74th minutes, as well as a penalty kick goal in the 85th by Maggie Werenczak.

SUNYIT let in a final-minute goal to give the game its final score of 4-2. Head Coach Tyler Renaud was happy with the performance overall:

“We gave up an early and late goal in the match, but overall we put a solid 90 minutes together. Our continued success will rest on winning the possession game.”

SUNYIT will return to the pitch tomorrow, completing their weekend road trip with a 2:00 pm contest at Penn St.-Harrisburg.
