SUNY Polytechnic Institute

The 2025–26 season marks the third year for Malik Johnson as an assistant coach with the SUNY Poly men’s basketball program. A 2019 graduate of SUNY Poly with a degree in Business Administration, Johnson brings both playing experience and a strong connection to the program’s culture.

During his time as a student-athlete, Johnson appeared in 102 games for the Wildcats, making 89 starts. He ranks sixth all-time in program history in games played and tenth in career assists with 232.

Off the court, Johnson currently works as a Career Exploration Specialist at OHM BOCES, where he helps guide students toward professional pathways. Each summer, he also serves as a Production Assistant with the Levitt AMP Music Series in Utica, contributing to community engagement and event coordination.
