Women's Cross Country Solid on Rough Penn St. Abington Course

- The SUNYIT Women's Cross Country Team placed sixth out of eight teams at the First Annual Penn State Abington Invitational on Saturday held at Lorimer Park in Huntingdon Valley, Pa.

The squad pulled out a great performance on the difficult and rugged course, with freshman Carli Rogan leading the Wildcats with a time of 29:11 finishing 24th out of the 54 runner field.

Senior standout Lyndsey Brognano impressed the fans as she sprinted past two runners, finishing at 31:12 in the 31st position.  

Seniors Thalia Irizarry and Caitlin Cottell brought in the third and fourth place times at 32:35 and 32:40 respectively, while sophomore Cassidy Thompson rounded out the scoring five with a time of 35:52.  

The women will head down to Annanadale-on-the-Hudson next Saturday, September 22nd where they will be competing in the Bard College Invitational.  Race time is scheduled for a 12 p.m. start.
