Women's Volleyball Go 1-4 on the Road in Victory Promotions Invite


POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Lady Wildcats traveled to Potsdam N.Y. this past weekend to participate in the Victory Promotions Invitational held at SUNY Potsdam.  The women came home with a 1-4 result on the weekend.


SUNYIT took on St. Lawrence University Friday the 9th, playing the Saints to five games, resulting in a 2-3 loss (25-23; 25-19; 21-25; 17-25; 12-15).  Stat leaders for the Wildcats were Juleah Vedder (Dolgeville, N.Y./Dolgeville) with 23 kills and 18 digs, Kaitlyn Harrington (Central Square, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) who tallied 10 kills, and Jessica Sass (Kingston N.Y./Kingston) who returned 14 digs.


The second match on Friday was against Southern Vermont College.  The match resulted in a 3-0 loss for the Wildcats. The scores of the match were 19-25, 24-26, and 21-25.


On Saturday, SUNYIT took on Oswego State, beating them in three games (25-8, 25-17, and 25-12).


In the final match of the invitational, the Wildcat's played Potsdam State, losing in a four-game contest.  The scores of the match were 25-20, 10-25, 11-25, and 13-25.  Harrington registered nine kills and Vedder was credited with 10. 


The Wildcats head out to SUNY Cobleskill tomorrow, September 13th for a NEAC matchup against the Fighting Tigers.  The match starts at 7 p.m.
