MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's soccer team picked up a crucial overtime win against Morrisville this past weekend defeating the Mustangs 2-1. The Wildcats scored early in the second half and then again early in the second period of overtime.

The Mustangs came out of the gate hot, scoring within the first two minutes of the game. It took the Wildcats until the second half to get on track. Shannon Harrison (Holland Patent, N.Y.) scored off a rebound from her own shot to even the score in the 49th minute. The game would go back and forth forcing two overtimes, but Harrison would strike again in the 102nd minute, beating the keeper near post to win the game.

  • With her two goals, Harrison now has nine goals on the season. She is tied for 3rd in goals for the NEAC thus far.

  • Felicia Bianca (Guilderland, N.Y.) made five saves on six shot attempts for the Wildcats.

  • Morrisville's Jennyfer Marquez had the lone goal for the Mustangs.

  • Goalkeeper Marissa Curtis had four saves for Morrisville.

The Wildcats will be traveling to crosstown rival Utica College Wednesday, October 9th. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 PM kick-off at Charles Gaetano Stadium.
