WSOC: Wildcats Work a Draw Against Albany Pharmacy at Home.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's soccer team tied Albany Pharmacy on Wednesday night in an exciting 2-2 game at Wildcat Field. The Wildcats are now 8-8-1 all-time against the Panthers. 



The Wildcats got out to an early 1-0 lead on a goal in the 14th minute from junior Sarah George (Dolgeville, N.Y.). Albany Pharmacy would tie the game and take the lead on two goals by Mayle Lupia-Eannace in an eight-minute span late in the second half. With the pressure on, SUNY Poly would answer the call with just under four minutes left in regulation. The game-tying goal was scored by Chloe Smith (Newport, N.Y.) who gathered up a rebound on a saved shot off the foot of Elizabeth Lawrence (Boonville, N.Y.) to force overtime. The Wildcats had some great opportunities in overtime to walk it off, but a fantastic pair of saves by Albany Pharmacy goalkeeper Gabriel Evangelista kept the game knotted at two. The Wildcats are now 1-1-1 this season.



  • Sarah George's goal in the first half brings her season total to two. 

  • Chloe Smith's game-tying goal in the closing minutes was her first this season and second of her career.

  • Elizabeth Lawrence had an assist in the game, her second of the season. 

  • Adrianna Marcolin (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) had an assist on the first goal of the game. The point brings her career total to 23.

  • Shannon Harrison (Holland Patent, N.Y.) played an aggressive game for the Wildcats. She took a game-high nine shots, landing all nine on goal. Two of her shots were in overtime, both requiring fantastic saves to keep the game alive for the Panthers. 

  • Felicia Bianca (Guilderland, N.Y.) was the goalkeeper of record in the game for the Wildcats. She made two saves. 

  • Albany Pharmacy's Mayle Lupia-Eannace had a game-high two goals for the Panthers. 

  • Gabriel Evangelista made an outstanding 16 saves in goal for Albany Pharmacy. 

  • The shot taking in the game was extremely lopsided in favor of the Wildcats. The final total was 25-7. The Wildcat offense made some great opportunities but struggled to capitalize.  



The Wildcats will kick up their North Eastern Athletic Conference schedule this weekend. The 'Cats will host Keuka College on Saturday, September 21st at 2:00 PM. The game will be played at SUNY Poly's Wildcat Field. The game is part of the Wildcat Weekend festivities and will be followed by a SUNY Poly women's soccer alumni game at 4:00 PM.
