GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its 2018 Men’s Soccer All-Conference Team with 33 student-athletes receiving the league’s top honors. The Wildcats were well represented on the All-Conference Teams with one player being named to the first team, one player being named to the second team, and two players being named to the third team.
MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men’s soccer team hosted their last home game of the 2018 season on Wednesday night. Castleton got out to an early lead with two goals in the first half of the game. The Spartans extended their lead to 3-0 in the second half which is where it would finish.
CLINTON, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly Men’s Soccer team lost to local rival Hamilton College on Tuesday by a score of 1-0. The lone goal of the match was scored by Hamilton in the 55th minute. The Wildcats fall to 4-5-3 on the season with the loss.
MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men’s soccer team improved to 3-3 in NEAC Play on Saturday with a 2-1 win over Gallaudet. The Wildcats scored their first goal early to take a 1-0 lead in the first half. Gallaudet tied it up in the 49th minute, forcing the Wildcats to go on the attack. The Wildcats would rise to the occasion, scoring the game winning goal in the 64th minute.
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men’s soccer team traveled to Union College on Wednesday to play a non-conference game against the Dutchmen. The game ended in a loss for the Wildcats, who were unable to score in the game. The final score was 2-0. The Wildcats are now 3-4-3 this season.
MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men’s soccer team lost a heartbreaker on Saturday in their second North Eastern Athletic Conference game of the season. The Wildcats fell 1-0 to Cazenovia, the single goal came in the 24th minute and was unassisted. The loss brings the Wildcats record to 2-1-3 (1-1 NEAC) while Cazenovia improves to 2-4-0 (1-2 NEAC).
MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men’s soccer team hosted Alfred State on Wednesday in a non-conference matchup which saw the two teams play to a 2-2 draw in double overtime. The tie, SUNY Poly’s third of the season, was the Wildcats third consecutive double overtime game this season. The tie brings the Wildcats record to 2-0-3 on the year.
MARCY, N.Y. - Saturday’s home opener for the Wildcats proved to be an exciting one at SUNY Poly’s Wildcat Field. The men’s soccer team earned their first NEAC win of the season over Wells College 4-3 in double overtime. Benjamin Alonge (Elmont, N.Y.) had his mark all over this game, playing a role in all four Wildcat scoring plays. The senior had three goals and assisted on the game winner in the second overtime period.
CANTON, N.Y. – Solid defensive play was the story of Saturday’s SUNY Poly men’s soccer game against SUNY Canton. The game went a full 110 minutes without a goal, ending in a 0-0 draw. The two teams combined for 32 shots in the game but placed just six on goal. The Wildcats are now 1-0-1 in 2018.
UTICA, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men’s soccer team earned their first win of the season on Friday in thrilling fashion. With just two seconds remaining on the game clock and the game tied 1-1, SUNY Poly senior Benjamin Alonge (Elmont, N.Y.) was awarded a penalty-kick. Alonge made the most of the opprutunity, sending his PK shot into the back of the net to win the game for the Wildcats. The win was the first of the season for the Wildcats.
MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly Athletics Department has released the 2018 schedule for the Wildcat men’s soccer team. This year’s schedule features 18 games; eight at home and 10 on the road. The Wildcats open play on the road at cross-town rival Utica College on August 31st at 7:00 PM. The team’s first home game will be against NEAC foe Wells on September 15th at 2:00 PM at SUNY Poly’s Wildcat Field.
