  • WVB: Solid Team Play Leads Wildcats to a Three Set Win in NEAC Play

    MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly Women’s Volleyball team picked up their second conference victory on Wednesday, as they took down NEAC rival Cazenovia (25-20, 25-18, 25-20). The Wildcats are now 2-0 in conference play, and 4-9 overall. Seven Wildcats recorded two or more kills on the evening.

    MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men’s soccer team hosted Alfred State on Wednesday in a non-conference matchup which saw the two teams play to a 2-2 draw in double overtime. The tie, SUNY Poly’s third of the season, was the Wildcats third consecutive double overtime game this season. The tie brings the Wildcats record to 2-0-3 on the year.

    LANCASTER, P.A. - The SUNY Poly Women’s Cross Country team came in fourth place overall with a score of 109 points at the Charger Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 15. The Wildcat’s Freshmen Lauren Phetteplace (Cortland, N.Y.) scored the highest for the team taking fourth place with a time of 20:39.23.

    LANCASTER PA. - The SUNY Poly men's cross country team came in first overall with a score of 56 points at Lancaster Bible’s 2018 Charger Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 15th. The Wildcats finished six runners in the top-25 to take first place in the race narrowly over host Lancaster Bible who had 58 points.

    MARCY, N.Y. - Saturday’s home opener for the Wildcats proved to be an exciting one at SUNY Poly’s Wildcat Field. The men’s soccer team earned their first NEAC win of the season over Wells College 4-3 in double overtime. Benjamin Alonge (Elmont, N.Y.) had his mark all over this game, playing a role in all four Wildcat scoring plays. The senior had three goals and assisted on the game winner in the second overtime period.

    MARCY, N.Y. - The Wildcat women’s soccer team cruised to their first win of the season on Saturday in a 6-1 win over the Wells College Express. Nakeya Stedman (Sauquoit, N.Y.) had a huge day for the ‘Cats in the win and two players scored their first goals of the season. The Wildcats record is now 1-2-1 in 2018.
  • WVB: Johnson Breaks SUNY Poly Career Assists Record, Wildcats Drop Three in Hartwick Invitational.

    MARCY, N.Y. – The Wildcats traveled to Hartwick College to compete in the 2018 Hartwick Invitational. SUNY Poly lost their first match on Friday against King’s College (Pa.) in four sets (25-22, 27-29, 19-25, 24-26). The Wildcats did not fare better on day two of the invitational as they were defeated by Oneonta (25-7, 25-21, 25-13) and Hartwick (25-21, 27-25, 25-15) on Saturday. Despite a disappointing weekend for the Wildcats, Sydney Johnson (Nine Mile Falls, Wash.) made history by breaking the program record for career assists.

    MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly Women’s Volleyball team opened NEAC play with a hard fought, straight set victory over SUNY Cobleskill (25-16, 26-24, 25-17). The Wildcats were led by Brittany Adams (Clifton Park, N.Y.) and her 13 kills. With the victory, the Wildcats move to 3-6 overall and 1-0 in NEAC play.

    MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly Wildcats women’s volleyball team had a strong first match on their home floor as they defeated Sage in 3 sets (25-11, 25-10, 25-18). Karlie King (Liverpool, N.Y.) led all players with 13 kills and 13 digs. The win brings the Wildcats to 2-6 overall.

    CANTON, N.Y. – Solid defensive play was the story of Saturday’s SUNY Poly men’s soccer game against SUNY Canton. The game went a full 110 minutes without a goal, ending in a 0-0 draw. The two teams combined for 32 shots in the game but placed just six on goal. The Wildcats are now 1-0-1 in 2018.
  • WSOC: Wildcats Fall in Early Season Matchup With Bryant & Stratton.

    SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Wildcats were shut out on the road on Saturday in a closely contested, hard fought matchup with the Bryant & Stratton Bobcats. The lone goal of the game was scored in the 64th minute for the Bobcats. The Wildcats are now 0-1-1 on the season.

    ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly women’s volleyball had a tough three games this past weekend at the University of Rochester Invitational. The Wildcats went 0-3 but had a career milestone and an All-Tournament Team Selection. The Wildcats fell 0-3 to St. John Fisher on Friday and 0-3 to both Rochester and Nazareth on Saturday.

A dry course and mild temperatures led to perfect running conditions for the 12th instalment of the Short Course Invitational, leading to a new course record being set by one runner.

    MORRISVILLE, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly Women’s Volleyball team traveled to Morrisville State for four non-conference matches this weekend. On Friday, the Wildcats opened the season with a match against Buffalo State, followed by a match against Oswego State. The Wildcats then took on Penn St.-Behrend and MIT on Saturday.

    MANCHESTER, VT. – The SUNY Poly women’s soccer team opened up their season on Friday night with a 3-3 draw. The Wildcats and the Mountaineers of Southern Vermont battled it out for 110 minutes with neither team getting an edge over the other.

    UTICA, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men’s soccer team earned their first win of the season on Friday in thrilling fashion. With just two seconds remaining on the game clock and the game tied 1-1, SUNY Poly senior Benjamin Alonge (Elmont, N.Y.) was awarded a penalty-kick. Alonge made the most of the opprutunity, sending his PK shot into the back of the net to win the game for the Wildcats. The win was the first of the season for the Wildcats.

    MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly Athletics Department has released the 2018 schedule for the Wildcat women’s volleyball team. This year’s schedule features 30 games; nine at home and 21 on the road. The Wildcats open play on the road at Morrisville State where they will play D’Youville and Buffalo State on August 31st at 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM. The team’s first home game is on Monday, September 10th at 7:00 PM against Sage College.

    MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly Athletics Department has released the 2018 schedule for the Wildcat men’s soccer team. This year’s schedule features 18 games; eight at home and 10 on the road. The Wildcats open play on the road at cross-town rival Utica College on August 31st at 7:00 PM. The team’s first home game will be against NEAC foe Wells on September 15th at 2:00 PM at SUNY Poly’s Wildcat Field.
  • Record Breaking 74 Wildcats Named NEAC Scholar Athletes.

    GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced the 2017-18 NEAC Scholar Athlete selections. This year the NEAC named a record-breaking 890 student-athletes to the Scholar Athlete list, up from last year’s 806. The Wildcats of SUNY Poly had a program high 74 Scholar-Athletes, finishing fourth highest amongst the 14 full-time and six associate NEAC member institutions. Keuka College had the highest number of Scholar-Athletes with 110.

    MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly Athletics Department has released the men’s and women’s cross country schedule for the 2018 season. The Wildcats will take part in nine races this season, two at home and seven on the road. The men's team, with a strong returning core, will be defending their record breaking fifth consecutive championship. The women's team will look to build onto a very successful 2017 campaign that saw them place fourth at the NEAC Championship last season.

    GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its 2018 Softball All-Conference Team with 33 student-athletes receiving first, second and third team honors. Three Wildcats received  All-Conference Awards. Bailey Wood (Preston Hollow, N.Y.) and Courtney Morton (Whitesboro, N.Y.) were voted second team and Bailee Haddad (Frankfort, N.Y.) was voted to the third team.

    GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its 2018 Men’s Lacrosse All-Conference Team on Wednesday with 43 student-athletes receiving first, second and third team honors. Five Wildcats received All-Conference honors. Ryan Mead (Churchville, N.Y.), Daniel Rivie (Ossining, N.Y.), and Jared Laird (Ontario, N.Y.) were voted to the Second Team. Austin Rio (Cicero, N.Y.) and Tyler Schmitz (Eden, N.Y.) were named to the Third Team.

    GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its 2018 Women’s Lacrosse All-Conference Team with 37 student-athletes receiving first, second and third team honors. Three Wildcats were voted to All-Conference teams. Mari Ames (Carthage, N.Y.) and Kayla Prosinski (Endwell, N.Y.) were Second Team selections and Megan Will (Remsen, N.Y.) was a Third Team selection.

    MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly Athletic Department has announced the postponment of Sunday's baseball games against Penn College and softball games at Cobleskill. The games are postponed due to bad field conditions and a rainy forecast. Make-up dates have not yet been announced.

    MARCY, N.Y.- The SUNY Poly softball team earned two big North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) wins Friday afternoon in a sweep of Wells College. The Wildcats were locked in offensively scoring a combined 17 runs on 19 hits for both games.
